What are the benefits of inclusive environments both on children with and children without disabilities?

As a culminating activity the students develop a behavior support plan for a case study child. This Module (3b), as created, could take up to 3 and 1/2 hours to complete and spread over 2-3 classes depending on how much of the module you choose to use. With this module and all the resources it contains the teacher could use parts of it throughout the course or narrow it down to fit into a couple of assignments It provides extensive information about using visual strategies in the classroom and provides an overview of Positive Behavior Support with great resources. Students can also go to this site so it could be used as a self-study or research assignment.

learn prevention skills
learn replacement skills to replace challenging behavior
familiarize themselves with positive behavior supports (PBS)
Discover the benefits of using Visual Strategies in the EC classroom for all children and how to create visual supports
Side note: CSEFEL has prior modules on Building Strong Relationships and Creating Supportive Environments (Module 1), Social-Emotional Teaching Strategies (Module 2 ) and Individualized Intensive Interventions: Determining the Meaning of Challenging Behavior.
All of these materials are provided on the website and are free.
